At the center of each of the pieces that make up In the Lull of the Waves on the Low Lee Shore is a large acrylic sphere half-filled with blue liquid that is pumped from within and sprayed on the interior sides. At the center of each sphere is a small but bright light from which the shadows are cast of the movement of the liquids. The image of flowing liquid projects onto a translucent screen surrounding the sphere and onto the floor below. Standing near the hanging lantern, the viewer can hear the sounds of the flowing water within.
